Five Nights at Freddy's

Let me start out by saying, I have been a FNAF fan since the first game came out. So, naturally I held high expectations for this movie as the game developer, Scott Cawthorn, was said to be working to make the movie as well. Let's just say I was really disappointed with how inaccurate the lore was portrayed in this movie. I do, however, have to give them applause for actually including some of the significant scenes in the movie--- like the Bite of 87', and the Spring lock scene, but overall they were really poorly done and didn't really do the game series justice. The story mostly surrounds the backstory of the security guard, who never really had an important/stand out role within the games. The security guard, Mike Schmidt, is trying to care for his sister by himself, but can't seem to keep one job. He gets referred to 'Freddy Fazzbears Pizzeria', an abandoned arcade/entertainment center for kids that shut down in the late 80s due to unknown reasons. As time goes on, he finds that the 'entertainment' in question, isn't as safe and clear as it seems..

I'm mainly disappointed because the FNAF series is such a great packed storyline that it's actually endless and you can get so much story and action out of it. It feels like such a crime to do such a good series like this injustice. But to be unbiased, as a standalone movie, not connected to the lore, it's honestly just okay. Nothing really stands out, and yes, I get it, it is PG-13, but still so much more could have been done. In my opinion, the animatronics movement and overall position as the 'scary figures' in the movie was really corny. They didn't really have that scare factor that is usually so present in any of the FNAF games. I really think they would've done better using some CGI or humans in the costumes and having them act like robots. I urge you to look at some pictures of the game jump scares, and compare them to the movie, because when comparing them, the movie version is extremely lackluster.

I rate this movie a 6/10, I think as a movie set apart from the games, it is just okay..
