Ballerina
This movie was INSANE. It was so good and just crazy. I could stop right here because I am just speechless at how crazy this was. It follows a bodyguard when her best friend commits suicide with no reason behind it, no motive. The only thing she leaves is a letter with a username to a sushi account and a note that says "Get revenge for me!". Ok-ju (the protagonist) is absolutely crazy in a this movie, but not like a psychopath crazy, more like a laid back "wow didn't know she had it in her crazy". The story itself was less of a twists and turns story, but more of a quiet story. The main part of the storyline focuses on her past friendship with her friend--- whom I believe there was heavy romantic undertones but that's for another blog.
The character development piece of the movie was kind of lacking in a sense that nothing really changed about her perspective on things. The audience doesn't really get any insight in Ok-ju's backstory or her feelings about anything if it does not relate to her relationship with her friend. I would also like to add that there were plenty of beautifully shot moments, to the point that I think that if you took a screenshot of any scene at any point of the movie, it could make a great background.
I rate this movie a 8.5/10.
Give me more. I want a thorough breakdown of this movie.
