Parasite
This movie was SO GOOD!! Every single camera angle was absolutely crazy and the parallels that kept showing up, ESPECIALLY the motifs. Bong Joon-ho did so well making this movie, I would even go as far as calling it a 'perfect' movie. It was crazy because everything that would happen, they would fall right back to square one-- like when they were finally settling in, and then BOOM, the flood. Or alternatively, when after their house floods, at the end of the day nothing changed and they still retain their jobs. The parallels they fought so hard to maintain, and they see the burden of carrying it.
I loved especially how there were no plot-holes, and not a bit of information was wasted. When they spoke about the housekeeper at the beginning I wondered, "That's kind of odd-- that she has been here so long.." but never really questioned it further than that. Also, housekeeper's husband? Soooo creepy and off putting. That shot where they're replaying the little boys traumatic event? Where he's walking up the stairs? No thank you. I saw similarities between her husband and Ki-woo (main character) at the end after he got his brain surgery. I wonder if they both had brain surgeries, or maybe her if husband is just cuckoo.
Overall this movie is so good and although towards the middle I was wondering when it would pick up, it picked up right at the perfect time. Dialogue, scenes, time, absolutely nothing was wasted and all executed perfectly. I give this movie an easy 10/10.
You are actually listening to all my recommendations? Aubrey, we're going to get along just fine...
